Sorta. W engines have three cylinder banks. I don't really know what to call it.

More like 1/3 of a radial 12 cylinder...but am I to gather from this video that this guy built this beast from scratch? Dang.....!

I thought it was impressive. It's an incredible looking machine.

I came across it while looking for V4 engines and kit cars and thought that people on oppo would enjoy it while wondering what to call that engine.

I don't think there's an official definition for a "W" engine, especially considering there have only been a handful, but most have had 4 cylinder banks.

VW's W8, Audi/VW's W12, and Bugatti's W16 are all built like pairs of narrow VR engines, so 4 cylinder banks and 2 heads. The only 3 bank I know of is the W18 for the Bugatti 18/3 Chiron concept.
